Time-proven stability!
Swiss law offers two accessible ways to acquire a
long-term residency, namely obtaining
a residency permit for company owners
or by concluding a tax agreement.
Temporary residency in Switzerland gives you the right to live in Switzerland year-round and also visit other Schengen countries without the need for visas
A residence permit will be issued to the main applicant, and at the same time also to his/her spouse and underage children
Life in Switzerland is pleasant, comfortable, and prestigious. The country offers unique nature, a high level of safety, and political and economic stability
Living in Switzerland with a temporary permit will give you the possibility of receiving permanent residency and citizenship in the future
By registering
a company
Register a Swiss business
Your business should be of an innovative character and include large investments (around 1–6 million Swiss francs)
Establish workplaces for Swiss citizens
The applicant is named by the company director on the basis of a labor contract with salary and employment terms corresponding to the local and generally accepted conditions, the position held, and the business sector*
The applicant must have the necessary experience, education/qualifications, language skills, and other skills sufficient to carry out his/her duties in the company
* Foreign citizens can be taken on as employees only if it is proven that it was impossible to find anyone in the local or European labor market who could carry out these tasks
By tax
agreement
An agreement is concluded with the tax administration of one of Switzerland’s cantons*
The application does not have to be a EU-EFTA citizen
The applicant does not have to do business within Switzerland
Tax is paid each year in a fixed amount that is basked on the applicant’s cost of living in Switzerland
The fixed amount is set at 400,000 Swiss francs on the federal level and may vary depending on the canton
* In order to obtain a positive decision from the immigration authorities about whether to issue a residence permit, the most significant factors are whether the applicant has significant capital and will actively participate in the social, economic, and cultural life of the country.
When family members are included in the application, a legalized marriage certificate and legalized birth certificates of any underage children are required.
In making a decision on whether to issue a residency permit, the immigration authorities have the right to ask for additional information or documentation and they pay special attention to the applicant’s professional qualities, his/her ability to adapt to the professional and social environment, language skills, and age.
